Adventure Club

Adventure Club

The Adventure Club was first set up in the fall semester of 2002. Each month, SWCID students take a trip to the scheduled State Park or Mountains in Texas. This club helps students to understand about nature, outdoors, how to survive in the wild, and learn many other different things that relate to camping.


The Baptist Student Ministries is organized to encourage spiritual and Christian citizenship among SWCID students and faculty members. Weekly meetings of an inspirational nature, early morning developmental periods, and monthly social gatherings make up the chief activities of the BSM. Students who are members of local Baptist churches are considered members of the organization. Other students of all denominations are invited to join. Join BSM for Lunch every Thursday at noon for fellowship, devotional and great meals. After Darkness, Light: Every Wednesday evening students gather to study scripture and discuss theology.

SWCID Diplomats


Established in 1983, the SWCID of Howard College Diplomats serve as official hosts and hostesses at various institutional functions and represent the college at many community events. Selection to this prestigious group of three or four young women and men is based on high school records in both academic areas and extracurricular activities. Recommendation by a high school administrator or counselor is required. Students interested in becoming SWCID Diplomats should contact the Dean of Student Services at SWCID.


Membership in this organization is open to any interested student on campus. The purpose of the organization is to promote cultural awareness and promote an understanding, respect and appreciation for cultural awareness. The club sponsors and participates in various student activities.
