Erika's Thoughts on Howard College

Why Howard College?
I selected Howard College because it's in my hometown and Howard is where home is.  I wasn't ready just yet to go into a University.  I'm glad I chose Howard because ALL of my teachers have been doing such a great job at making me feel comfortable and at home.

Why Nursing?
Growning up, I always knew that I wanted to be a nurse because I love helping people, comforting them, and letting them know that I'm here to help both physically and mentally.  Nursing ensures all that and much more.  Also, because I can't help bu run and get the First Aid kit to clean, cut and wrap my fiances boo boos.

Career Goals
My future career goals are to get my RN through The Covenant School of Nursing in Lubbock and then precede my career by getting my BSN.

Favorite Professor
My favorite instructor(s) would definitely have to be Mrs. Julie Neal, Mrs. Erin McKensize and Mrs. Lewis.

Best Studying Advice
My advice on studying would be, DON'T hold it off and find a quiet place to study without interruptions.

Most Valuable Learning Experience
My most valuable learning experience at Howard College would be, don't make excuses.  If you put your mind to it, then you CAN do it.  If you want to go to college then DO IT.  There's financial aid to help you if you have money problems.  If you don't know where to start, there's wonderful counselors at the college who are very helpful and will go above and beyond to help and work with you.

Relax and Have Fun
Honestly my relaxation is staying home with my fiance while watching some Supernatural.

What I like most about Howard College
What I like most about Howard College is, the teachers will work with you one on one if needed and are really amazing at working with you if personal situations come up.

What I tell future Howard College students
I would let them know that Howard College helps you out a lot.  They have great teachers, a great staff, and a great teaching system.
